Views

Views are a way to save a collection of Channels that can be easily plotted together. This can be useful when a specific subsystem, team or user has a common set of Channels that are usually plotted together. Views are shared across all users in an organization so they can be created to be shared by teams

Creating a View

Views are created by first plotting the Channels you'd like to save, then clicking the + button in the View panel:

Enter the name and click the check box and you've got a new view:

Plotting a View

The Views pane allows you to manage and plot Views. Plotting a view is as simple as choosing a view in the list. Plotting a View will add the Channels to the current Legend. One view can be selected at a time and unselecting a view will un-plot it's channels.

Views are not Asset-specific so if a view is created for one Asset and some or all of the View's Channels exist on another Asset, then the view can be applied to both.

The search bar on the Views pane will filter the listed Views and can be case sensitive or use regex.

Views can be pinned to the top of the View Pane's list by each user. This way each user can easily find their most commonly used Views

Editing Views

When a View is selected, it can be updated to contain the Channels currently plotted. When the plot is different than the contents of the View, then the save button will be activated

After saving, a comparison of the changes will be presented so it can be confirmed before saving:

Views and Calculated Channels

Views are a great way to store Calculated Channels for reuse since these Channels are saved in Views like any other Channel. Adding a Calculated Channel that encodes commonly used logic, unit scaling, or noise reduction to a View can make this easy to share with other team members
