Overview

This guide walks you through the process of reviewing and managing Annotations within Sift.

Managing Annotations

Updating State (Data Review Only)

In the annotation details panel, use the status segmented control to transition between Open, Failed, and Accepted. State changes are recorded in the activity log.

Assigning a Team Member (Data Review Only)

In the annotation details panel, use the Assigned to selector to assign or reassign the annotation. Assignment changes are logged.

Adding Comments

The details panel includes a comment thread. Comments support rich text and are visible in the activity log alongside state changes and assignments.

Archiving and Restoring

Click Archive at the bottom of the details panel to soft-delete an annotation. Archived annotations no longer appear in the tree or on charts. Click Restore on an archived annotation to bring it back. A confirmation dialog appears before archiving.

File attachments

File attachments can be added to both Annotations and their comments to provide additional context or supporting documentation. These files are stored alongside the respective Annotation and remain associated with it. Sift supports in-platform viewing for the following file types: All other file types can be uploaded and downloaded but must be viewed externally. Attachments do not alter the content or behavior of the Annotation or comment they are added to.
The maximum file size for a single upload is 30GB. There is no enforced limit on the number of files.
