Overview

In Explore v2 (Beta), you can create temporary Calculated Channels and plot them alongside raw Channel values without leaving your investigation. This allows you to apply CEL expressions to transform and analyze time-series data on the fly, without modifying your existing Channels. Once created, a temporary Calculated Channel can be saved to an Asset, making it available for future analysis and reuse.

Instructions

To create a temporary Calculated Channel:
  1. In Explore v2 (Beta), click the Calculated Channels tab.
  2. Click Create new Calculated Channel.
  3. Select the Asset to attribute the Calculated Channel.
  4. In the Calculated Channel name box, enter a name for the Calculated Channel.
  5. Click Add Input Channel.
  6. In the Expression box, enter the CEL expression for the Calculated Channel.
  7. Optional: In the Unit box, enter a unit for the Calculated Channel.
  8. Optional: Turn on the Save to Asset toggle.
    • This saves the Calculated Channel and attributes it to the selected Asset.
  9. Click Add Calculated Channel.
    • The Calculated Channel is plotted alongside your raw Channel values.
