Overview
In Explore v2 (Beta), you can use time-alignment to compare Runs on a shared timeline. This lets you align each Run to a common reference point (T-0) so you can compare them directly. The selected alignment method applies to all Runs in the Panel. You can align Runs to:- The start of a Run
- The end of a Run
- A specific timestamp
- An Annotation
Instructions
To set a relative time alignment, ensure Channels from one or more Runs are plotted in a Panel. Then choose how the alignment point is defined and optionally configure it for each Run.- In the Panel, click Settings.
- Open the Time-alignment tab.
- In the Alignment list, select + Create relative alignment.
- In the Name box, enter a name for the alignment.
- In the Default alignment method list, select a method.
- Optional: Configure how the alignment is applied:
- To apply the alignment method to all Runs, click Apply default to all.
- To configure an individual Run, select a method from the Alignment method list in the Run’s tile under Alignment points.
- Optional: Configure additional settings if one of the following methods is selected:
- Timestamp
- Annotation
Timeseries
The Timeseries Panel provides unique on-Panel interactions to quickly establish or modify a relative time alignment, including toggling the X-axis view and setting a T-0 alignment point, without opening side menus.Modify the X-axis alignment
Specifically for the Timeseries Panel, an interactive button is located directly below the X-axis that allows you to toggle between absolute UTC time and relative duration without leaving the Panel view.- Click Time….
Set T-0 using right-click
When a Timeseries Panel is already in relative time, you can manually adjust an individual Run’s alignment point directly from the Panel interface. This is the fastest way to align disparate Runs based on a visual event.- Identify the specific point in the data you want to use as the new alignment.
- Right-click on that point in the Panel.
- Select Set point as relative time T-0.
- Select the Run you want to align to that specific point in time.
