Overview

In Explore v2 (Beta), you can create a manual Annotation in a Timeseries Panel to mark a specific time or time range in a Run. You can create the following types of manual Annotations:
  • Phase: represents a period or stage
  • Data Review: captures findings or issues

Instructions

To create a manual Annotation:
  1. In Explore v2 (Beta), click the Annotations tab.
  2. Click Create new Annotation.
  3. In the Add Annotation section, select the Annotation type.
  4. Configure the Annotation:
    1. In the Name box, enter a name for the Annotation
    2. Optional: In the Description box, enter a description for the Annotation.
    3. Optional: In the Comment box, enter a comment for the Annotation.
    4. Optional: In the Custom Metadata section, add Metadata for the Annotation.
    5. Optional: In the Associations section, associate the Annotation with Assets, a Run, or Channels
    6. In Time settings, select a Start and End time, or enable Instantaneous Annotation (a single point in time with no duration)
  5. Click Add Annotation.

Create Annotation with Select X

In Explore v2 (Beta), you can define Annotation timing directly from the Timeseries Panel using the Select X tool.
  1. In Explore v2 (Beta), click Select X.
  2. In a Timeseries Panel, click and drag on the chart to select a time range.
  3. Right-click the selected time range, then click Create Annotation.
    • The Annotation settings section opens, where you can create a Phase or Data Review Annotation from the selected range.
