Overview
This guide shows you how to upload a Parquet file into Sift using the web interface. By following the steps, you’ll make your Parquet data available in Sift for visualization and analysis.Import a Parquet file
To upload a Parquet file:Sift supports Parquet files with a flat schema, where each telemetry Channel is represented as an individual column. To learn more, see
Parquet: Format.
- In Sift, click .
- Click Import data.
- Select a Parquet file.
- Define the General configuration settings:

Select an Asset:
- Existing Asset
- New Asset
If you want to associate the new Parquet file with an existing Asset:- In the Asset list, select the Asset to associate with the Parquet file.

Select a Run:
- New Run
- Existing Run
If you want to associate the new Parquet file with a new run:- In the Run box, edit the name for the new Run.
- In the Timestamp column list, select the column containing timestamps. Auto-detected but editable.
- In the Timestamp format list, select the format of the timestamp column.

Select an Asset:
- Optional: In the Complex types import mode list, select one mode to specify how lists and maps (complex types) should be imported.
- Optional: Edit the Channel configuration settings.
- Click Upload.
