Calculations on Channels
Channels store raw time-series data produced by your assets in Sift. Using the Common Expression Language (CEL), you can execute a wide range of calculations to dervive meaningful insights from your data.
Sift offers a robust set of built-in functions for both stateless and stateful transformations, tailored to work with all supported data types.
These functions are compatible with all supported data types, enabling users to:
- Analyze and process data directly within Sift
- Apply mathematical operations
- Aggregate values
- Create custom transformations
Calculations on channels can be executed via the Sift API or through the Sift UI. The following image is a calculation on a channel in the Sift UI:
